Class of 1973 Scholarship Fund
The HHS Class of '73 Reunion Committee (a group of dedicated and disarmingly good-looking members of the class) took on the task of establishing our Memorial Garden on the site of our high school. We're happy to say: mission accomplished. We raised $6500 for the garden. You can see pictures of the garden on the home page and on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/HHS73reunion. The 50th reunion gave us an in-person opportunity to discuss possible future activities of the class. Many members of the class expressed an interest in further expanding our legacy in the schools and in the town. To that end, the Reunion Committee has evolved into the Endowment Committee, with the aim of establishing a scholarship for HHS graduates.
Goals
Well, everyone, we did not make our 2025 goal of $20,000. We had just over $12,000 in scholarship funds by year end. See the list below for those who contributed to both the garden and scholarship fund. Ending 2025 with this amount, we are able to offer a $600 scholarship in May 2026. On the advice of Amy Jordan, our excellent advisor from the Hudson Community Foundation, the minimum practical goal is $20,000, offering an annual scholarship of $1,000 forever. So... our new short-term goal is the $20,000 mark by the end of 2026. This allows us to increase our scholarship to $1000 (5% of the fund) in May 2027. We happily take checks, cash, stocks, farm animals and credit cards - and if you'd like to donate today or make a pledge, we've made it easy! Please see link below. Your donation is tax deductible.
